I love quizzes. I know they have serious limitations but they are effective in that limited way. You can supplement it with much more that verbal feedback.
My favourite would be asynchronous discussion. It can be tricky to grade but I'm quite excited by perusall.com which can be integrated through LTI and has a level of automated grading built in.
Option 1 [usually the starting point]: Use the quiz as a launching off point, but supplement it with verbal feedback.
Option 2 [the optimal]: Ditch the quiz and design better ways to support recall & understanding, using the activity types in the DOMS™️ Activity Builder.
